Sleepover & Little Farm
Maya had her friend Terren Jo sleep over last week, previewing teenagerdom by keeping each other awake & gossping...
And today we went to little farm to feed the moo-cows.
more shots from each
Maya, Pop, and a pink gorilla
Maya & I were walking with friends Uri & Anna, and came across this big pink Gorilla just seated at Cesar Chavez park.... too good to pass up the photo op!

Zoo Days, now & then
Another Zoo day today, compared to a picture from a similar day almost exactly a year ago. How much changes...
Here are some more shots from the day - at dinner tonight, Maya told us a story of a Chimpanzee (phonetically: pan-Zee') 6 or 7 times - each time the chimp fell off the branch it was lying on, and then acknowledged Molly & Maya with a grinning shake of its head. Clearly, a big event!

An honest to goodness hike!
Today was a spot of brightness amidst a cold (for here, at least) & rainy week+. We celebrated by testing our luck at one of our local favorites, Mount Tam, with Maya, letting her catch a nap in bits in pieces, rather than our norm of returning home for her daily Rip Van Winkle starting at 1pm. Great results - the day was a stunner, Maya hiked somewhere in the 2-3mi range (!! - this means we can get out again - !!), & didn't seem to be worse for the wear by catnapping. Snow could be found quite low on the mountain, and all in all a great day...
A few more photos from the hike can be found here.

Annual Pilgrimage to St. Malo
We're just back from a perfectly refreshing weekend outside of San Diego, where the kids had a great time, and the adults got some rare time together as well... a few photos from the weekend

It's been a great early November - we had our first big rains so Maya and Reed got to play with umbrellas. Kris & Billy have been building the addition to their house so they (and Reed!) have been staying with us giving Maya her favorite playmate back, and just last night Maya and Tarek made a intricate towers out of blocks. It's amazing the complexity of tower Tarek was able to do with Maya's help, guidance, and engineering. More photos of these last few weeks here.
